LUMA-6CH Installation

Before you start

Installation must be carried out by qualified personnel, with the supply de-energised, in compliance with current regulations. Power LUMA-6CH only from a SELV supply with limited current, short-circuit protection and correctly rated. Never connect the 230 V mains to the device.

1Mounting

LUMA-6CH mounts two ways. Position it vertically or horizontally with the label facing up; footprint 90.5 × 71.3 × 62 mm.

A / DIN rail

Clip the device onto a standard DIN rail like a regular breaker, inside a protected electrical panel.

B / Keyhole (wall)

Where there is no cabinet, use the keyhole slot on the back to hang it on a single screw: useful to tuck it above a false ceiling.

TBC protection grade (IP), terminal tightening torque and mounting clearances.

2Connections overview

LUMA-6CH exposes the DC supply, six power channels, two data outputs (D1, D2) and two external inputs. The map below reflects the confirmed I/O; the exact terminal labelling and position are being documented.

3Wiring

  1. Connect the 12–24 V DC supply to the DC IN terminals, observing polarity.
  2. Wire the LED loads to the power channels: up to 180 W per channel, 500 W total. Check that the total draw stays within 500 W.
  3. Connect any addressable strips to the data outputs D1 and D2 (data, not power).
  4. Wire any local controls (rocker or push-button) to the two external inputs.
Common-anode loads

The outputs are constant-voltage for common-anode loads. The detailed per-channel connection scheme is (TBC).

4Power up & first setup

No app or account is needed: the whole setup happens from a browser at luma.local.

  1. Power the device and join its network.
  2. Open luma.local in a browser on the same network.
  3. Follow the four-step wizard: name, Wi-Fi, light layout and confirmation.
  4. During setup LUMA pulses each channel and recognises the light type on its own: mono, RGB, RGBW, Tunable White or addressable.
  5. When done, the dashboard shows one tile per channel, ready to control.
Network

Default hostname: luma.local. Behaviour without Wi-Fi (a setup access point) and the initial credentials: (TBC).
