From PCB to electrical panel.
How we prepare and verify this contentA professional controller is more than a working PCB. Format, mounting, terminals, wiring, heat flow and service access must match the place where the product will be installed. For LUMA-6CH, that meant leaving the generic enclosure behind and designing a four-module DIN-rail device with an alternative wall mount.
A working board does not define the product.
The first LUMA version was a bare board sized for a generic enclosure. It was enough to validate control, outputs and firmware, but it did not answer installation questions: where do cables enter, how are power and signal paths separated, what does the electrician see and how is the unit replaced? Those questions change layout, connectors and mechanics.
DIN rail speaks the language of the installation.
In professional electrical panels, DIN rail provides a known mechanical reference, alignment with other devices and a familiar mounting procedure. LUMA's four-module format organises the product around that context. DIN rail does not automatically solve safety or thermal management: spacing, materials, terminal access and panel conditions still require validation on the final revision.
A second mounting method broadens installation without changing electronics.
Not every controller goes inside a panel. A keyhole mount allows LUMA to be fixed directly to a wall or in a service space, such as above a suspended ceiling, while retaining the same electronics. The selected position must leave room for wiring, ventilation, inspection and safe removal.
Mechanics must follow the real electrical limits.
LUMA-6CH is designed for 12–24 V DC, up to 180 W on an individual channel and 500 W combined. The enclosure and panel must be evaluated against simultaneous load, ambient temperature and cable size, not the theoretical sum of all channel maxima. Power supply, protection and load distribution remain part of the installation design.
From prototype to product through verifiable decisions.
Moving to DIN format is not a cosmetic redesign. It is a decision connecting electronics, mechanics, installation and maintenance. Physical samples, mounting trials, thermal cycles and installer feedback must confirm that the selected form works outside the laboratory.
