How we prepare and verify this content

Manufacturing needs more than Gerber files. A controlled release includes fabrication and assembly data, approved BOM, drawings, firmware, programming and test procedures, acceptance limits, labels, packaging and revision traceability.

PCB and assembly package.

Provide Gerber or ODB++, drill files, stack-up, impedance notes, board outline, fabrication drawing, centroid data and assembly drawings. The BOM needs manufacturer part numbers, approved substitutes, do-not-fit states and notes for polarity or special handling.

Firmware and identity package.

Release immutable programming binaries with version, hash, memory map, fuses and programming order. Define how serial numbers, MAC addresses, certificates or calibration values are assigned and protected. Separate development credentials from production credentials.

Test, mechanics and shipment.

Include fixture drawings, test software, limits, golden-unit policy, failure codes and data format. Add enclosure drawings, torque values, adhesives, labels, regulatory markings, packing sequence and final inspection criteria. Name an owner for every document and record approval and revision.

When to involve an engineering partner.

An independent review is most valuable before the PCB, enclosure, firmware architecture or pilot batch is frozen. OBJEX LABS can review hardware, firmware, testability, compliance and the manufacturing path, then define a scoped phase with clear deliverables and acceptance criteria.
