How we prepare and verify this content

A working prototype proves that an idea can function. Production requires repeatable hardware, maintainable firmware, controlled components, compliance evidence and a test process that can detect faults before shipment.

A prototype answers only the first question.

Breadboards, development boards and hand-assembled PCBs are useful for validating sensing, connectivity and user experience. They do not prove thermal margin, radio repeatability, component availability, assembly yield or long-term updateability. Industrialisation begins by turning every hidden assumption into a documented requirement.

Freeze interfaces before details.

Define supply range, connectors, mechanical envelope, radio region, environmental limits, provisioning and update strategy before polishing the PCB. These decisions affect enclosure, certification, production tools and field support. Late changes propagate through the entire product.

Build the production path into the design.

Add accessible test points, deterministic test firmware, unique device identity and a clear programming interface. Approve alternates for critical components and record the exact BOM, PCB revision and firmware used for every pilot batch. A product is ready when another operator can build and verify it repeatedly.

When to involve an engineering partner.

An independent review is most valuable before the PCB, enclosure, firmware architecture or pilot batch is frozen. OBJEX LABS can review hardware, firmware, testability, compliance and the manufacturing path, then define a scoped phase with clear deliverables and acceptance criteria.
