OBJEX LABS was born in Palermo in 2019 as the solitary vision of Salvatore Raccardi. For nearly four years, Salvatore experimented with modular solutions, exploring diverse areas such as energy efficiency, energy harvesting, multi-protocol systems, hardware miniaturization, and high-density connectors — pushing the limits of what IoT devices could become. From the very beginning, these advancements were shared openly across social channels, reaching thousands of people worldwide. Their feedback — both supportive and critical — played a fundamental role, helping the project expand, refine, and grow into something greater.
What started as a personal mission to design modular IoT solutions — customizable by users and easier to recycle at the end of their lifecycle — soon evolved into a broader vision: making smart devices more sustainable, more adaptable, and more accessible. In the early years, OBJEX operated as a consultancy, providing technical services to startups and companies. Every resource was reinvested into research and development, fueling the ambition to create not just products, but a true innovation ecosystem.
In the summer of 2023, Salvatore Raccardi and Nicolas Bruno began collaborating on several projects, experimenting with new modular solutions that eventually led to the creation of the ELPMs. Although they had attended the same high school and university, they had never worked together before; thanks to a mutual friendship, they started collaborating sporadically, gradually intensifying their partnership.
In January 2025, Salvatore Raccardi founded OBJEX LABS, transforming years of personal experimentation into a structured company, with Nicolas Bruno joining as co-founder, aligned in vision and driven by a shared passion for engineering, electronics, and design to explore innovative solutions. Together, they aim not only to push the boundaries of technology, but to create a meaningful impact in the land where they grew up — a place long overlooked and indifferent to the future — striving to be the spark that ignites a broader engine of innovation.
